About us
MadVan is a new concept of Spanish school founded in Vancouver, Canada. We provide Spanish classes (private and groups) in the main areas of Metro Vancouver. We have experience with the BC Spanish curriculum, and all of our courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which prepare you if you want to take any official Spanish certifications in the future. We offer high-quality Spanish classes for all levels, ages and purposes.
Our team is composed of qualified, experienced and dynamic native teachers with extensive experience in teaching Spanish to students of different ages and nationalities and with official certifications to teaching Spanish as foreign language.

Manuel Casanova - TeacherManuel was born in Cantabria, one of Spain´s north coast provinces. He has lived abroad for many years in places such as Finland, Dominican Republic, Haiti and now Canada.
He holds a Master of Science in Applied Linguistics and, before collaborating with MadVan, he was a teacher for refugees and asylum applicants in Madrid. In his classes, Manuel encourages students to feel confident about using the language and always offers tips for a better learning |
Nadia Eraso - TeacherNadia is from the south of Colombia.
She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Linguistics with emphasis on (English-Spanish) translation. Currently, she is completing her Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. She loves communicative exercises and grammar. Teaching is what gives her energy and inspiration. She enjoys it very much to work with students from different countries and cultures who are eager to learn her native language. Besides teaching, she is a student in a Hospitality Management Program. In her free time, she likes traveling, learning languages, and going outdoors into nature. |
Rodolfo Ortiz - TeacherRodolfo Ortiz is from La Paz, Bolivia.
He has been teaching Literature and Spanish as a second language for 15 years. Students describe him “fun, accessible, and excellent” teacher. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the UBC Department of French, Hispanic & Italian Studies and obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Hispanic Languages and Literatures in Pittsburgh, PA, in the United States. |
Álvaro Asenjo - TeacherÁlvaro is from Madrid, Spain.
He is a historian but also who holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching and a Certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. He loves travelling, learning other languages, teaching Spanish and sharing Spanish rich culture and history. As a Spanish teacher, he helps students to reach their goals delivering dynamic and entertaining lessons. |
Paula Taioli - TeacherPaula is from Madrid, Spain.
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education and years of experience on teaching kids at different schools in Spain. She loves to learn new languages and travel so in 2016 she moved to Sydney for a year, working as a Spanish teacher there. She really loved the experience so, back in Spain, she did different teaching Spanish courses at Instituto Cervantes and started to collaborate with several organizations teaching Spanish to immigrant.s. She came to Vancouver in 2018 where she combines her two passions: learning languages and teaching them. |
